Have been looking into Medicare and all that entails as will be retiring, hopefully, next year. In all the research I was doing, I came across Boomer Benefits. They are a Medicare insurance resource and help people apply for Medicare Supplemental Plans. They seem to have good reviews but would like to hear from someone who has actually used them. Can anyone add any insights? Thanks!

You might want to try your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).
I'm not familiar with Boomer Benefits.

I follow Boomer Benefits Facebook page. It's a great source for information on all things Medicare.

I looked at their website. They are an insurance company.
I would suggest people talk to an independent government agency not associated with an insurance company. Every state offers help for no cost.
I worked for a health insurance company for 25 years doing customer service for Medicare products and supplements. I know these products inside out, upside down and backwards. If you have a question..ask me.
No insurance company provides info free without expecting to make some sort of profit. Be careful out there. Medicare supplements cannot be upgraded at a later date...what you choose today will be your policy for your lifetime. Advantage plans can usually be changed yearly.

@JudyL You will need to see which Medicare Supplements and Advantage plans are available in your particular state. You can also get some Medicare info on the Social Security site.

@JudyL DH & I just went on Medicare. I don't know about Boomer benefits. Our friend recommended a Medicare Adviser to us that he & his wife used. He was excellent. He came to our home & spent several hours explaining everything to us.
It didn't cost us any money. He went over all the plans & what they offered. He then provided us with a list of insurance companies who service our area & what their premiums are for each plan.He answered all of our questions. He made a suggestion to us based on our specific needs & specifications. He then left & told us to talk among ourselves & take our time.
We made a decision a few days later & asked the man back to help us sign up.This man worked for a senior center run by our county, who's job was to help people with their Medicare options.

@Carmie You have helped me a lot in the last few years when I was researching & preparing to sign up for Medicare. When the Specialist visited a few months ago I had a basic understanding which made it easier to follow what he was saying. He was employed by my County & had no connection to any insurance company.
The specialist advised us that in our state,New York, you can change your supplement anytime & as often as you'd like without penalty. Is this unique to New York or are there other states that have similar laws? I have friends in other states & they told me that they are stuck with their supplements unless they want to switch to an advantage plan.

@JudyL I used Boomer Benefits and highly recommend them. They are a broker and represent multiple carriers. They also provide lifetime backend support for any problems that arise. I had Medicare deny a claim and only had to make one phone call to Boomer Benefits. They handled everything, made all the phone calls on my behalf and had a corrected claim resubmitted that was paid. I highly recommend their services.

I was under the impression that you could change your supplement plan from October to December and I have changed my plan during that time period. I do not have an advantage plan.
