USUALLY, if you need a drug that is not on the formulary for your ins co., and you can only use that drug, the doctor will write a letter explaining why you need that drug only and the ins. co. will generally approve you to get it - usually as a high tier though. My DH needed a certain drug for his diabetes and this is what our doctor did then DH looked around and found where he could get it at the best price because we have a $500 deductible for tier 4 drugs.

I think I found a solution Silverscript seems like my best choice, the Choice plan will allow me to get my meds for 90 days at my local CVS, I will need to change for one generic and figure out a different rescue inhaler, but I think I am on the right track
