Every time I go to goodrx I discover something new.

I will post a screen shot of one of my rx searches so it can be seen how to “navigate” to the spot on their site.

here is how I hope this is clear.

@LTT1  I had no idea you could do that!  I'm glad I replied to you.  I learned something new.  Thank you!

Glad I could help!

There is another option (new to this discovery).

Look for “Independent Pharmacies” on that same page at the bottom. Might be lower prices for some rx’s.

Re: Medicare Prescription Coverage

I don't know what EPIC is, but you do know your DH does not have to drop you, right?

I'm sorry you have to do this, we may all be in your shoes one day.

@software Thank you and since DH is still working, we can not get EPIC and  I have been on these meds for years I have used all of the lower co pay options that were out there.

I am confident that between, me, my agent and my doc we can find a solution to the issue.

Also contact the drug company directly, they may have a program or direct you to one.

There are alternatives, don't give up.

Re: Medicare Prescription Coverage

@software

Thank you and  I know I can opt out of Medicare, on our current plan we have 15% co insurance which will run 2000-3000 for my infusions which will be done monthly starting in Nov. With my Medicare and supplemental the cost will be a fraction of that.

There is no way to drop the medical and keep the drug plan

Re: Medicare Prescription Coverage

If you cannot find a Part D plan with reasonable prices,  I suggest your doctor contact them and try to get a lower price.  I know that worked for my sister altho it had to be done every year.

@LexaMom

Hi and thanks but contact who I can not get prices until I choose a plan and I can not choose a plan until I get prices, it is a vicious circle.

I am seeing my doc this week and I will discuss with her alternatives to what I am taking.

Re: Medicare Prescription Coverage

Sometimes when someone needs a drug they can't afford the doctor can find a study to get them enrolled in or get the drug company to give them a grant to assist paying for it.

Insurance companies can raise the tier of a medication also! Two of mine went from tier 2 up to tier 3 and now one is tier 4. DH is with a different insurance company and one of his went from tier 1 to tier 3. No good reason for this other than to overcharge the customer! I can't get my meds by mail, and can get only 30 days' worth at a time. I asked why and they said it's due to the higher tier.Dr sent an appeal letter which was promptly denied. I now may $400 a month for three drugs...a lot less than when I was working,($1200, $600, $375) but still seems high to me....and that doesn't include two other tier 1 BP meds that are $35 and $37.50.

Remember the insurance company can do whatever they want with what they charge you, so don't give up. I looked at several options and I am now paying as little as possible. Am with silverscript administered by cvs. Humana Medicare advantage.

Re: Medicare Prescription Coverage

Most of my prescriptions are Tier 1 and Tier 2.  I only pay $2.50 for 90 days for one of them.  I have a Tier 5 drug, though, that's $600 a month.  My doctor gives me samples.  When it becomes a generic and is still too expensive I doubt she'll get samples.  Then I'll have to switch to a different drug.

Re: Medicare Prescription Coverage

Ok lets try this again - posting issues prevail.

I just priced out my top two meds at my local CVS and holy moly they are 1000 a quarter for what I now pay - $140. This does not include my 3 other scripts I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and she can hopefully help me find viable options
