Re: Maybe this is too plebian . . .

We mostly eat a Mediterranean type diet, I cook just about every day. I don't worry so much about what I eat, but how much, for me less is better. Life is too short to worry about every morsel you put in your mouth. Only in the US where food is fairly cheap and plentiful do we over indulge and then worry about it.

@LilacTree  Hello, this is a little off topic, but thank you for using the word plebeian.  I love vocabulary.

@Big Sister

LOL, I'm aware of the classic spelling, but thought just using the word would be challenging enough, so I used the accepted easier spelling.  I too love the English language, even the Americanized version!

I don't know if you remember the song "Cry Me a River," which is when I heard the word for the first time . . . "told me love was too 'plebean,' told me you were through with me" . . .  was part of the lyrics.

@Group 5 minus 1

Because it describes the simplistic meaning of my post.  We cooked, we ate, and we didn't get sick.

It means "common" or "ordinary," though I agree not regularly used.

I just eat what I feel like eating.  I had a piece of coffee cake for breakfast and will have lunch around 2:00 pm ... thinking meatball hero.

Dinner .... ?  no idea.  Maybe a salmon burger and salad.
