So I was cheap and bought a manual treadmill yesterday. I'm having second thoughts and wonder if I would have been better off with an electric model. I'm 68, get out and walk at a shopping center several times a week and decided on a treadmill so I can walk at home in bad weather. This thing had me panting in less than a minute. It's set at the lowest angle but is still steep. I can walk outside quite briskly for a good distance and not loose my breath so I wonder if walking on an electric treadmill would be more like walking down the street?
