Lyrica vs. Gabapentin

I had Shingles a little over 3 yrs. ago & still have sensitivity in that area. I was prescribed 3 caps of 100mg. a day & finally got it down to 2 caps per day. I would like to change to Gabapentin (much less expensive), but was wondering how the two compare. Is there anyone who can give me info on this - would appreciate it.
