My father in law took Lyrica for pain, for a very, very short time. He was extremely dizzy and fell. That was it for him. He stopped it immediately.

I had cervical spine surgery years ago but before that I had a lot of neck pain so the doctor prescribed Lyrica. It did not do anything.

I am sorry for your diagnosis and all that you are having to deal with.  The doctor thinks this medication may help you.  I always do my own research and then I mull it over for a bit and weigh the pros and cons.  I have taken several medications that I was so afraid to take and thankfully they turned out o.k. I wish the best for you whatever you decide.

My DH was not one of the lucky ones with herniated discs that could avoid surgery, it was his only choice and the right one fo him,. He became totally immobile and his quality of life was down to nothing.

Herniated disk is horrible. It irritates the nerves and all I can say having Cervical Spine fusion was one of the best things that could have happened to me.

Once the Neurosurgeon said I can help you with the pain and he told me how, my only question was when. And that was it. No way was I planning to be in pain for the rest of my life.

I just meant what you wrote in your original post about your back issues and the doctor saying that he suggested Lyrica for your disc issues.  When I wrote "all that you are having to deal with", I just meant that after reading your post, your disc issues sounded very painful and like a lot to deal with.  I didn't mean anything derogatory or intrusive by what I wrote and I hope you didn't take it that way.  I wish you all the best and I hope that whatever you decide, that you feel better.
