@dooBdoo...I know you have taken a lot of abuse on these boards and for the life of me, I cannot understand why. You are one of the most kind, supportive posters here.

I am a 24/7 caregiver for my DH. I have to handle everything in our household. It's exhausting. Not looking for sympathy, but dealing with all that I do, I try to give some posters the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are having health issues or other personal issues, overwhelmed.  No reason to attack and be nasty, however.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

You are so kind, @catwhisperer.    Truly, I don't think I encounter nearly as much "targeting" as many others here.   I'm grateful for that and yet at the same time regretful that anyone else has to withstand the barbs we see launched here every day.

I wish people would step back and look objectively at argumentative threads (easy to find in Community Chat, for example).    I feel that we would see the posters on both sides of issues tend to be less than respectful of each other...  and that's why the threads dissolve into "them vs. us" instead of healthy, civil, lively, positive conversations.     For some reason we can't seem to allow everyone to walk away from a discussion with their dignity intact.   I guess it's considered more fun to right-fight and insult each other.    There's contempt, superiority, and condescension on both "sides" of just about every argument we see lately.

It would be marvelous to find a way to convince everyone to start fresh, treat each other as respectfully as we treat the friends and family we see face-to-face each day, and transform this community into a more pleasant environment.    Instead, I fear we'll continue to see finger-pointing always to "the other guy/gal" as being the one who's at fault...  with no self-awareness or introspection into the way we, ourselves, are part of the problem.   I know it's not easy, because even though I aspire to be more aware and thoughtful in my words I often fail, too.   Posters complain about people leaving here...  yet we're doing it to ourselves.

You have so much to bear in your life, and I think you are strong, courageous, and sensitive.    You are one of the warriors I admire.❤️

Wow!  So many thoughtful answers and suggestions.  Thank you I am overwhelmed!!!

DH and spent a night at Tucson Medical Center as my eye looked and felt like it was going to explode.  I see a retna specialist tomorrow morning.

Also spoke with my doctor and we are going to try one more injectabel.  I as so glad oral meds work for some of you.  You will never know how much this short time on here about your experiences means to me!!!  The ladies from my past 2 threads when I joined years ago answered so many questions for me and others about surgery (hyster.)  That I was prepaired for mine.

Forgive the short blanket answer but I'm winking with my bad eye.  Patches are packed away to be found soon.

Also got aa heart from Trinity so she saw usHeart

Blessings my cyber friends,

Cathy

Hi @catwhisperer

It isn't only the ladies. If only you could have seen and read my welcoming to this bulletin board, about 15 years ago. I thought some really felt I was a "listed s** offender" from some of the things they had to sat to me and about me.

Still get the occasional comments, like you mentioned, but from a tiny minority of those that visit these forums. There were times I thought about moving on, especially during some of the more trying times during my wife's illnesses, and the loss of so many of our furry kids.

Being the optimist I have been my whole adult life, and earlier, I knew that everything would at least be a bit better as time passed. I don't know any specific posters that just plain do not care for me, or what I have to say, and/or the way I choose to say them. I do know some that are not fond of me and I usually don't read much of anything they post on any of the forums I visit most often.

Right now everything in my world is great and it would take a lot more than any negativity here would change. Best to you,

@hckynut....Hello John. I would say there are a whole lot more posters who like you than not. There is a particular group who preys on posters. One will zero in on someone, then the rest of the group joins in. The more someone argues with them, the worse it gets, until the thread is closed. I see it almost daily lately. So, I just stay away from them.

My best to you, your wife, and kitties. Cat Happy

Hello Everyone,

I will write more later as I have a swollen retna.  Back on Lantis and hope I heal soon.

Thanks to all the posts and have a great weekend.

John, I answered you on one of my other threads about nic names and hope you saw it.  We don't know each other but I hope to see you around and it sounds like you keep good company!

Take care all,

Cathy

Since we're saying thanks I'd like to add a bit.

@dooBdoo  @Trinity11

I think you are two of the kindest of posters, I always watch for yours.

@hckynut  I don't think we've posted together, but I respect your reaching for your goals, and your obvious devotion to Cindy, and of course the fur babies.

Hi @Jackhound Mom,

@I didn't see your post about my nic, so I don't know if you had a question about, or just a comment. If there is something you want to know about my nic, I would be happy to answer you. Use the @, and hckynut, that way I will see it.

Most of my company here at home all have fur. We presently are down to 7 Indoor Only Felines, and our dog Lily. Have no plans on going anywhere, so we'll probably be seeing each other again. Hope your healing goes as planned.

Nice meeting you,
