I have not seen either the "Quell" nor this device. I know that Teeter makes a portable back device. Believe it is FDA certified for back pain relief, if FDA approval means anything to some potential buyers.
I've done the Pelvic Tilt for many decades, starting after my 1st back surgery. Those and some Williams Exercises are what I did, have done, for years. Several months ago I bought a Teeter Inversion Table and it works for me as claimed. My spine is missing removed discs L-3/L-5-/S-1, but my mobility nor flexibility has not been compromised.
Many overlook how much their hamstrings can play a role in some with back pain(not herniated/ruptured/degenerated or arthritic discs) because of their weakness and/or flexibility. Many studies have shown the close relationship with back stiffness/soreness, and more serious issues, to the condition of the hamstrings.
I also have a TENS unit I use for several different purposes and it meets my expected goals. Many need to understand that spinal exercises are not a "temporary" tool for only a recovery. They should be a daily activity everyone able should do to protect their spine.
My spinal issues have never prevented me from living the same type of life I lived before my surgeries and recoveries. I attribute that mainly to my dedication to keeping myself flexible and strong in the tissues that support the spine.
