Light sensitivity after catarac surgery

I had my right eye done  in Feb and my left one 3 weeks ago.  Had a check up yesterday.  My eyes seem so light sensitive now.  I mentioned it to Dr. he said it should get better with time.

Did anyone here experience this after the surgery?

@MoJoV After my cataract sugery I had a slight sensitivity to bright light but it wore off in a week or two.

I did, but only in my left eye in which I chose a Multi-focal lens. I had it done 1st and my right eye 6 weeks later. Had right eye scheduled for a month later, but I ended up in the hospital for almost 3 weeks with my, once again, bleeding colon. Didn't notice it with the Mono-focal lens in my right eye.

Re: Light sensitivity after catarac surgery

I'm going to have cataract surgery soon, so I've been reading up on possible untoward effects.

It seems light sensitivity is fairly common. It's your eyes adjusting to the new intensity of light after being shielded with the cataract fog previously. Even the brain takes some time to adjust to this new view of the world.

It can take up to a few weeks before it settles for some. I would think it would be more of an adjustment for those who had later cataract surgery with more distorted vision prior to surgery.
