LIFE ALERT SYSTEM IN CASE OF A FALL AT HOME

Any good reccommendations for a communication system that I can buy that would alert 911 in the event I ever fall at home and I can't reach my phone?

I live alone.

I've tried looking into this but there are so many choices I'd appreciate some reccommendations from anyone who uses one of these items and is satisfied with it.

I do not have a landline and would like the device to connect with 911 as I have no family or other contacts that would be able to assist me.  Thanks so much!

@pdlinda,  I also live alone and have used the SkyAngel911 for several years.   My SIL has MS and is prone to falls so she now uses this too.

The company also offers various alert systems.

ETA:  One thing I really like about this unit is that it works everywhere there is cell availability.  I don't leave home without it.  Gives me a sense of safety and security.

@pdlinda A few years ago I went to the yard to feed the birds, it had snowed and when I was coming back I could not see the small step and took a tumble. Sadly we had enough snow that my arms could not reach the ground to get myself up so I rolled over to the patio where there was no snow! (LOL) I was alone, my DH was at work.

I was telling one of my friends about it and she told be to get an apple watch. She had the flu and had fainted in her home, she lived alone, and her watch called 911 and they responded to her home. I went the shop the next day and have worn that watch every day since.

I will not be without that Apple watch again.

@We rescue cats   May I ask the price of an Apple watch?  Also, do you wear it when you sleep?

I had Senior Safety for my Mom, she wore it like a watch, it was very reasonable and no contracts to sign.

@pdlinda

Thank you for starting this thread, and thanks to those who have replied.

I think many of us are getting to the point in life when information on these types of services will be very helpful to us.

very helpful. I have had one bad fall, 2016in front of the library  Lost my balance. Broke a vertebrae. Now my knees are so bad if I go down I can't get up. I've started using a cane regularly. if my husband is away I'm out of luck because he doesn't hear his phone ring or notice a text mssg vibration. I might  be interested in some type of device

@pdlinda I am a horrible person to give you costs, I reakky don't know. My watch is $15/month but I really do not know what I paid for it 4 years ago. They have promos and I have seen them on sale on QVC . . . I'm sorry that I'm not much help here! But I can tell you that I use the watch every day. I set alarms to remind me to get to an appointment or a meeting, it reminds me to turn off the stove when I'm cooking and even to turn off the water when I'm cleaning the fishtank. I truly could not function day to day without it.

My friend that told me about it credits hers with saving her life, and I think she is right, 911 send an ambulance to get her to the hospital when her phone alerted them that she was not moving. You can also have it call a family member if you wish, I have my husband on an alert for mine, and my best friend as a back up.

You can use the watch as a phone, to text and to monitor health services. It truly is a major part of my life.
