BELOW IS QUOTED FROM THE CONSUMER PRODUCTS SAFETY COMMISSION, AKA CPSC, RECALL PAGE FOR THIS RECALL:

The TV can become unstable while on the assembled stand, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children and others.
About 52,000 (In addition, about 1,800 were sold in Canada and about 2,900 were sold in Mexico)
LG Electronics: Text “STAND” to 256-888-9977 or call at 800-243-0000 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET Monday through Sunday, email at 86inchTVstand@lge.com or online at www.lgecares.com/tvstand or online at www.lg.com and click on “Public Notices and Recalls” on the bottom of the page for more information
This recall involves four LG Electronics 86-inch smart TV models with model numbers 86UQ8000AUB, 86UQ7070ZUD, 86UQ7590PUD, and 86NANO75UQA. The TVs (not including the stands) are 86-inches diagonally, 43.5-inches high, 76-inches wide, and 2.4-inches deep. They weigh approximately 100 pounds. The serial number of the recalled product begins with 202RM, 203RM, 204RM, 205RM, 206RM, 207RM, or 208RM and is located at the bottom right of the back of the TV, along with the model number. Consumers can also check the serial number by pressing the mute button, three times rapidly, on the original LG remote control provided with their TV.
Consumers using the TV’s supporting stand legs should immediately detach it and place the television in a safe location away from children. Contact LG Electronics for instructions on how to inspect the unit and to obtain replacement screws and stand parts, including help from a technician for a free repair. Consumers who wall-mounted their TVs do not need to stop using their TVs.
LG Electronics has received 22 reports of TV stand instability, resulting in 12 reports of tip-overs. No injuries have been reported.

We bought a 55" LG OLED C2. The stand could be larger. They know there is an issue with their stands since some of their larger TV's don't come with one because they assume you want to put it on the wall?

Those little legs look very flimsy to hold up such a large TV. If someone just brushed against it, it would possibly fall over.

Well isn't that interesting - guess what I just bought this afternoon from Costco and is supposed to be delivered Thursday? LOL
I'm off to call, thanks for posting @Mindy D

The legs on TV's are rediculous. And not everyone wants the TV up on the wall. Just another example of the world ripping off consumers. They want you to buy another item to compensate for what they have failed to provide with the item they are selling. Sound bars are another example of an extra they want to sell you because they can't be bothered to make a TV with decent sound.
In another thread someone is asking for phone # look up sites. We had a perfectly good phone book with phone #'s, but NO, let's find a way to make the consumer pay for something that was free forever. And yes, I know free is not free but it was included in the price of the phone service.
I could go on...but point has been made.

@Nightowlz i have that TV. Not crazy about the toothpik looking stands either.
remote that came with it cheezy. requires an additional purchase to get a better remote.

At least I don't have any issues dusting it off weekly. Doesn't wobble like I thought it would after reading about their stands. The TV is so thin. Looks like a mirror?
I use the Firestick remote most of the time.
I do turn on the TV with the TV remote. It turns on the TV along with the receiver for sound. I also have to use it to change over to watch local channels on the Antenna.
I like the Firestick remote since it's smaller.
I have no clue what all the buttons on the TV remote do nor do I have a clue what all the TV will do.
I know how to get to the Antenna or the Firestick to stream TV but that's it.

@Nightowlz i use the cable box remote for on/off and volume control because if i press volume 3x on the Firestick, it activates a pop-up on the LG screen! i only use the LG remote to change the input (HDMI etc)
I've changed audio and screen settings. the default settings especially the audio is meh. i also disabled the data mining function, LivePlus.
LG’s ACR [automatic content recognition] technology is baked into its newer WebOS-powered smart TVs, known as LivePlus. To turn this off, go to Settings > All Settings > scroll down to General > scroll down to a setting called LivePlus > toggle it to Off.
