Kroger Recall-Ribeye and Ground Beef in a few areas

only in a few areas:

Kroger is recalling ground beef and ribeye steaks due to a potential health hazard.

Bone-in ribeye steaks, boneless ribeye steaks and in-store purchased ground beef purchased from April 23 through June 7 should not be eaten, as the products may be contaminated with E. coli and could result in severe illness, according to a company recall issued June 7.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness as of June 10

The recall affects Kroger stores located in greater Cincinnati; northern Kentucky; Dayton, Ohio; and southeastern Indiana.

The contaminated beef originated at the Aurora Packing Company, which the USDA issued a recall for on May 22. Over 62,000 pounds of raw meat were potentially affected by the E. coli, which was discovered during random sample testing by the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Buckley McKay, a public affairs specialist for the USDA, said an additional recall will not be released for the Kroger incident, as its has already been addressed.
