if you haven't seen an orthopedic doctor that would be the first thing I would suggest. Needs change over time and what your problem was prior might have changed significantly.the most important things for any type of a knee issue is the strength of the muscles that support the knee.any strengthening exercises that can be done without causing pain can help stabilize and possiblyprevent certain issues.

Knee buckling is one of those ""see your doctor immediately"" conditions.

My knees will occasionally buckle when I have had a lot of sciatic pain and numbness due to a back problem. I have no pain in my knees and they show nothing wrong with them.

My knees used to buckle when my ex kissed me. Loved that feeling. Too bad he turned out to be a major jerk.
