@bikerbabe I had arthroscopic surgery for a torn miniscus and never had real pain - just soreness. I was told to take one pain pill in 4 hrs and one before bed as well as the next day before therapy and before therapy for 2 weeks. Didn't have pain after coming home but I took the next day before therapy and the constipation from the pills was far worse than the soreness I had so I took no more and found I never had any pain bad enough for them anyway.
Hope you have a speedy recovery. Always do your home exercises daily to prevent stiffness. Good luck!

Are you taking 6 weeks off from work to recover, wow to me that sounds like a lot, my brother had the surgery 3 times, one knee done twice, and the was back driving in 3 days and back communting to Midtown Manhattan from Westchester in less than a week

Hi All
Had arthroscopic surgery on my knee to repair a torn meniscus. Love my surgeon whose specialty is sports medicine and the surgery facility was fantastic. I did really well. Super tired so going to take a nap. I have pain meds - hoping I don’t need to take many. Sutures out day 12 and 6 weeks PT. Hoping it be back at work early April. Will see how I feel tomorrow. So far pain is nothing compared to when I first injured it.

Hi @bikerbabe
Hope today finds you getting better with each passing day. Never had any knee surgeries, but my friend the Ortho doctor, did many surgeries on the players in my hockey league. He too is a registered in Sports Med and has had his own knee issues. In 1 game he dislocated his knee and tore his MCL and ACL, he didn't play again for 2 years.
Keep regular with your PT, especially the at home part. Best wishes for a complete and successful recovery.

I am a hospital cardiac nurse. I don't sit at a desk all day. I take care of patients. Can't do that 3 days after surgery. 😉 Never said I was afraid. 😂

SMH never said you were afraid, please do not put words in my mouth, perhaps if you explained the nature of your job to those not familiar with you this post would of been unnecessary

I am confused. On my screen your post reads:

@bikerbabeI hope your recovery continues to go well! I recall you being a cardiac nurse, of course you need to be completely 100% healed to return. When I had knee surgery, I took 2 weeks off from work then went back and I was in quite a lot of pain. I wish I took longer.
Anyway - continue to feel better! ![]()
