KNEE REPLACED SURGERY-WHAT TO EXPECT?

I'm having knee replacement on Tu. I need both replaced but starting with one at a time. What do I expect after surgery? Lots of major pain? And how long will it take before I know if the surgery was a success or not? I'm 62 yrs and about 50 lbs overweight so I'm out of shape because I haven't been able to do jack with both knees bad. Tell me the things the drs don't tell you.
