I think you can read this. But it tells a story of a pregnant patient that could not get rx for UTI and ended up in ER. It was all due to not being able to reach her doc on weekend and pharmacy issues with insurance. It was access to  $8.00 rx that resulted in what could have been a deadly medical emergency.

I had not read this but have heard of similar situations. I finally heard from the dr's nurse. She said they had archived my records since his offices had moved.....they would have to pull them up ( which should only take a few clicks by someone who knows what they are doing) and in the meantime I should just find another ENT. I am doing that...but had to request an appt on the website as they only take phone calls until 1pm four days a week.

I hope they call me back....I had to put my age and insurance into the request before it would submit. They will probably see my age and blow me off...trying not to be so pessimistic but it is wearing me down. And to add a cherry on top....I think the dr may be one of my former students from years ago....hard to tell from the picture; he is young but the name rings a bell. Weird! Glad I don't have to see anyone who will be examining me below the neck.

Sister called me today and she lives outside Atlanta. She said her annual physical scheduled for August 5 was postponed until Dec because they are overbooked. Guess the system is broken everywhere.

Are you not able to communicate with the doctor directly through email? I know it's not the same but at least he or she can be informed of your concerns and provide you with some advice you can act on in the interim until you're able to get an in- person appt.

Re: Just trying to get a drs appointment!

The dr I need to see seems to always be in surgery...and the broomhilda who works the front desk just slides the glass window closed when she says "he's in surgery until...whenever". The giant hospital his office is in is located downtown and would take me two hours to navigate, park, and walk a few blocks to the office building. In this heat, not an option for me.

I hear so many people in here say they routinely have trouble like this getting appts....what has happened to the medical field? Patients shouldn't be treated like this.

There can be a ripple effect too.

This week my regular pharmacy notified me that the refills have run out on one prescription and the neuro's office told them it can not refilled without some labs and an in person office visit.

Gonna get interesting 😬

That's your fault for not keeping track of how many refills are left.  Not the pharmacy, not the doctor.
