Oh goodness!! You've been through a lot this year! Hope things get better soon!! I know what it's like to be non-weight bearing on a foot. I had surger in early November and was non-weight bearing for at least 2 weeks while the incision was healing and now, not  alot of weight until the bones heal.

I had to return to work the next week following my surgery because my boss is not a compassionate and understanding boss. I was to stay off work, per the doctor, until at least Wednesday following my surgery but my boss raised a stink and I had to go back earlier. I couldn't walk was using a rollater to get around to prop by knee up so my foot wouldn't bear any weight. I had an allergic reaction to the pain pills and couldn't eat because of the pain. I ended up working almost 5 hours my first day back to work and left because I was in so much paid. Thankfully the following day was a holiday and I was able to stay home but had to go in the following day and sit through meetings and trying to keep my foot propped up.

Goodie, you have a lot of challenges at one time, too many!  Better days are ahead. You are a strong person and will get through this one day at a time.  I know you appreciate the good things in your life, especially that loving grandson.

Heart felt wishes for a peaceful, restful holiday season. May 2016 be a great year for you.

Oh @hfpint I went through that - I tore my Achilles and had a heavy cast put on up to my hip - my employer hooked up a bag on my crutches so I could go to the copy room when needed - they gave me no break.  Well, after being up and down copying all day for weeks, my arm started getting numb.  I had dislocated my shoulder with the crutches.  When I told my employer I had to have surgery, they told me "we can't guarantee your job".  I had worked at the law firm 7 years, 7 days a week, gave them my entire life and they said that?  Well, I told my administrator, if they fired me I would own my bosses big beautiful home!   He went down the hall after I left the office, and a few minutes later the woman attorney came down to my desk, knelt down and said "I promise you that you will have your job when you get back."  Enough said!  I had 5 hours of surgery and two screws put in my shoulder and was off for 6 weeks and had my job when I returned.  Sometimes you just have to get tough and stand up for yourself.

There is a man at church whose wife was diagnosed with MS last year. She has gone downhill fast and requires a lot of care. He takes care of her. I noticed today that he has really aged in this past year. He is hunched over when he walks and just looks exhausted all the time, he has arthritis and his hands are all knarled. He used to always be fastidious in his dress - not so much now. However, they both were in church today and had nothing but smiles, good mornings and Merry Christmases for everyone. They would have every reason to be miserable but isn't them, they are sweet and pleasant to a fault.

I am having a year like that!  I admire your attitude. Even though it is hard sometimes.... I can always think of someone in worse shape than I am. Counting your blessings helps....that's for sure!  Hope you heal quickly and things start falling in order for you.  Enjoy the holidays!

Some days, months, years are just crappy.  I'm sorry you are in the midst of one of those.

I am having a bad year also - physical issues that will only get worse, not better.

But as I look around, there is always someone worse off.  We just have to be grateful for the good times.  Merry Christmas.
