Re: Joaquin Phoenix response to Golden Globes press reporters about the menu

Why do chefs prepare a vegan menu but name the dish "scallops" and give the appearance of scallops I do not eat scallops or mushrooms so this dish as no appeal for me. If you are going to promote eating plants why make it look like seafood or meat or from an animal? I guess this appeals to some but not me.

Joaquin Phoenix was reportedly behind the Golden Globes opting to serve a vegan menu (Photos: Golden Globes

@Iwantcoffee

I think it's wonderful to create plant based foods which appeal

to those who eat meat. It's all about transition.

Just like the Plant Based burgers which are being introduced.

It's all about transition.

I think, if they are going to go plant-based, they should embrace and celebrate the taste of plants, not attempt to duplicate animal foods. Talk about shouting, “Yes, plants are not the good stuff but we can imitate the real food...”

Eat meat. Real, healthy, honest food.

'Healthy'?  No

'Honest'?  No

This move by the Golden Globes had an environmental focus,

as well as ethical.

Their menu might mimic animal foods,

but no throats where slit and no blood was involved.
Compassion.  I would think people would want that....🤷‍♀️

Butchering animals is not always done without compassion and you are aware of that but like to cause drama. Again, if they really think plant based foods are so great they should focus on them, not on how they can make them taste similar to animals.

The environmental arguement has has been scientifically proven to be incorrect.

I say eat what you want but don’t make up stories and try to pass them off as true. No one appreciates that.

Well no matter how you spin it, the animal's life has been taken.

Not very compassiate.
No drama. Just death.

Of course the animal’s life has been taken. That is how animals survive. Eating other animals. It is nature. Science. Biology. Fact.

Re: Joaquin Phoenix response to Golden Globes press reporters about the menu

[ Edited ]

Do a little bit of reading.

Humans are herbivores.

Not all 'animals' eat each other.

"But I eat meat!!!"  Yes, the human body will allow eating meat

but the body will react negatively to animal products in the long run

in the form of disease.

Vegan/Plant Based eaters are herbivores...with no life taken.

Compassion.

And the "environmental arguement has has been scientifically proven

to be incorrect'?  Not true.
Research. Listen. Learn.

Eating meat is a learned human behavior...and it can & WILL be

reversed for the sake of the World. Little by little.

Again, we will have to agree to disagree. I won’t debate known science. I don’t have to. Anyone can find studies to support anything but science is clear.
