Re: Is there such a thing as a well-balanced low carb diet?

Getting back on OP's topic, might I suggest anybody talking about the number of carbs/day please indicate whether you are taling about total or net carbs.  Otherwise, you're mixing apples and oranges, so to speak.

As I said earlier, I went with a moderate 100 g Total/day diet.  Many who call themselves low carb actually count only net carbs and then will say that 100g/day is not low carb. But, if you add those carbs they subtracted back in, you're probably getting a lot closer to my 100 g/day than they think.

If you Google What is a Low Carb Diet, you will find many definitions, but generally anything under 100 to 150 g/day is considered low carb.  Technically, just reducing your carb intake could be considered a low carb diet for you.

@Icegoddess

“Net carbs” is mostly a marketing gimmick.
