With 3.8 million tart cherry trees primarily in the Traverse City area, Michigan produces 70 to 75 percent of the tart cherries grown in the United States.
I love Traverse Bay Farms' products including dried tart cherries, dark or milk chocolate-covered dried tart cherries, fruit advantage joint formula tart cherry capsules, and Montmorency tart cherry juice concentrate.
In fact, I love them so much that I have given them as gifts to my family!

I have a genetic blood clotting disorder. I have to check with my doctor before taking ANY kind of supplement.
No matter what direction the OP decides to take, I'm glad to see she will check with her doctor.
Many people can't take supplements that "thin" their blood and prevent clotting...and many drugs react adversely with aspirin.

My PC Dr is a big advocate of supplements and alternative medicines as excellent companions to mainstream medicine.
He highly recommends that any glucosamine/chondroitin supplement you take also have MSM and hyaluronic acid in it. He also recommended adding turmeric/curcumin capsules. I have seen a significant improvement in my pain and inflammation.
Also, reducing refined carbs (especially sugar!) can help.

Depends on the Dr. I thank God daily for my wonderful family Dr who always recommends trying natural remedies, diet and exercise changes BEFORE pushing prescription drugs.

I agree with using this board to get ideas and suggestions, THEN present them to my Dr. I feel that we should be able to ask each other for ideas of what worked for you.

I have read in the past that one should not take Turmeric with Aleve.

drugs.com lists no interaction between turmeric and aleve (naproxen), and my Dr has me taking both.

People asking for "idea, thoughts, suggestions" are really smart enough to ask a question and then research an idea or suggestion to figure out if it is best for them, or even worth asking a Dr about.
Some of the best information, whether it be a medical question, or buying a washer, comes from 'word of mouth'.
A message board nothing more than digital word of mouth, imo.
Also, in my opinion, most Dr's know very little about adjunct stuff. I would trust Andrew Lessman(HSN) over my own Dr for supplement information, in a heartbeat! Dr's don't have every answer.
I find I have to be my own health advocate nowadays. I ask many questions, wherever I want to, and filter the info myself. I end end up finding out things I had never heard of. I have thyroid disease. I won't feel better just depending on my DR, that is for sure.
I find it insulting that some members of this particular board beat the "this is not the place to ask 'that' kind of question (anything medical) drum over and over.
Why can't the people that want to make a suggestion, do so.
Those that feel off-put by a question, then just don't offer up any idea?
No one is going to get sued by giving a suggestion/idea on a public message board.
gabstoomuch, very well said. no, this is not a medical forum where one consults a physician. rather, this is a place where one can ask a question and get information and insight from others who may have some knowledge ( from personal experience or observation) to offer. then the poster seeking the information may filter through the answers and possibly gain some perspective on what to further research or discuss with their medical professional.
when I was diagnosed with De Quervain's tenosynovitis, an inflammation of the tendons in the thumb and wrist, I was advised by my physician to take the antioxidants astaxanthin and resveritrol as well as NSAIDS ( ibuprofen). I chose to try the antioxidants first and got great pain relief within a week. as someone else mentioned, I also trust Andrew Lessman's supplements and use his astaxanthin and resveritrol. I would not be without it.
although these antioxidants were recommended to me for treatment of a tendon inflammation, I have since read that these antioxidants are recommended for treatment of any chronic inflammatory condition.
OP, I hope you find some material here to work with and can then seek your physician's opinion specifically for your situation.

Ita..knowledge is power! We are lucky to have a library at our fingertips..there's a wealth of info out there. We have to be our own advocate and can't rely on the doctor's information. I lost my mother because of her doctor's mistake. I also lost my MIL, who was also an RN..they misdiagnosed her cancer.
