Re: Is there a supplement that really helps reduce inflammation?

Try a plant-based whole foods diet. If that's too much to tackle, at least try to eliminate dairy.

AMEN! Excellent advice. Dairy is so bad on so many levels.

Add: at least 2-3 liters of water per day. "The solution to pollution is dilution". I would stretch it out by saying...even if you don't change a dietary thing...drinking more water would make a difference. All that 'pollution' is creating an achy body.

In al honesty, this is not the place to ask. Consult a professional. Good luck

I'd disagree. Some posters know more about supplements and vitamins than many physicians. I know that for a fact.

Other doctors, like mine, are always doing bloodwork. She is suspicious of supplements, and it seems like she's always hoping to find something too high in my supplement mgmt. She poked at me for months for taking 2000 Vit. D3. Finally, she said to take it every other day for a month or two then do more blood work. IMO, she's following it too closely.

I have read in the past that one should not take Turmeric with Aleve.

Why? If anything is a problem it is the long term use of products like Aleve. Definitely not the turmeric!

The curcumin in turmeric is know to aid our system in 5 biochemical pathways....just amazing. Drugs all work by blocking something which causes other imbalances and side affects. Inflammation is not an Aleve deficiency.

Bottom line: knowledge is power. Learn what causes inflammation, and what you can change. By all means talk to you doctors but in most cases do not expect much as they rarely have the interest to learn about how to maintain your health naturally....it is not what they are taught. Your health is your responsibility. Your doctor doesn't have the time to explain much to you anyway...which is why they have been trained to write a script as it gets you out of the office faster!

Eliminate sugar and processed starches from your diet.

Eat salmon at least 3 times a week. Drink unsweetened tart cherry juice.

Exercise...at least 30 minutes a day.

Get your teeth cleaned at least 3 times a year.

Plus the supplements.

Taking supplements won't do a thing if you still have a diet filled with a lot of sugar and starches (and alcohol too).

terrier3 hit the nail on the head! Sugar is directly related to internal inflammation and starch turns into sugar. If you can dramatically eliminate/reduce your intake in this area you would be helping reduce inflammation within a few days.

Avoid taking things like Aleve and similar OTC meds as they can have serious and permanent impact on your kidneys and liver. Better to eliminate the inflammation rather than to treat the symptoms. Symptoms are just a message from your body to address the real problem. Never kill the messenger, address the message.
