@Ms X wrote:Maybe she should see a psychiatrist or get some psychiatric medicine to help her to change her diet.
That's one the most insulting things I've read in a while.
To imply her foods choices are not 'correct' and all in her head, is like asking someone to change their sexual orientation by talking to a shrink. Wow.

I do not think Ms X meant to be insulting, many people facing lack of options need help.
Just yesterday someone wondered if she is choosing not to be flexible with her diet as a "way out" of treatments and just letting nature take it's course. It was a sad, very sad, but thought provoking comment. Obviously she knows the Dr McD diet is not preventing disease or cancer based on her health history and later her cancer diagnosis. I think it is just her comfort zone.
I will just continue to be one of the cooks, grocery shopper and drivers. We have divided the tasks amongst us by skill set. (thankfully we have a few who LOVE to clean)
Everyday she is weaker

What is it they say about people who assume, @sidsmom? I'm talking about relaxing her from the stress and anxiety surrounding her illness.

You did say "to help her to change her diet".
Her diet is fine.
If one was really stating to relax her from the stress & anxiety, diet would not have been mentioned. Two totally separate things.

I was talking about getting her able to eat more and more high-calorie foods, @sidsmom. My post clearly states that her vegan diet should remain in place. Many times, anxiety and stress can result in difficulty eating, and a psychiatrist could help with this. I do believe they give things like anti-anxiety medicines and sedatives for this purpose at times.

Because of meds and what a patient/person is allowed to eat, I'd want to hear from her doctor. I say this because of what med's my own mother was on, and she had some food restrictions because of this. I'd hope they would check there first.
