Is anyone trying Yacon Syrup?

I am. I'd be thrilled if it shook up my month(s) long weight loss plateau, but even if not, there are quite a few other potential benefits. Definitely worth a trial, at least!

If this was just on dr oz recently I sort of believe the people that said it didn't work

Re: Is anyone trying Yacon Syrup?

I love Yacon syrup, and have used it for years. Had no idea people were claiming it helps lose weight. Well, it hasn't worked for me lol! I make great hemp seed butter using yacon. Very yummy, but hardly a weight loss aid.

This show on this last week on OZ with the Yakon syrup was a rerun. the Great OZ said it was a huge monumental break through in weight loss.....oh plezzzzzzz!!! This quack needs to go back to the operating room.

Re: Is anyone trying Yacon Syrup?

I tried it a few months ago, a teaspoon before every meal and it did nothing but give me gas. I purchased organic syrup by Amazon Therapeutic Labs from Swanson. If you do try it make sure whatever brand you purchase is a pure syrup and not a proprietary blend. Its not easy to find and it is constantly on back order on many online sites.

Re: Is anyone trying Yacon Syrup?

I was excited when I heard the promos for Dr. Oz's show about a new weight-loss product....but then I found out it makes you poop numerous times a day (in some people). I don't need help in that area, so I think I'm going to pass.

No, actually he said nothing of the kind...... But anyway, the "benefits" if it works at all, should be fine for me. I took 2 teaspoonfuls last night an hour before supper, and was even more satisfied with my supper than usual. Forme, I could notice a positive difference.

Re: Is anyone trying Yacon Syrup?

This is a quote from dr oz's website but when I read it I think they should have included the 20 who did not complete the project

We asked 60 women to eat one teaspoon of yacon syrup with or before each meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for four weeks. They were told not to otherwise change their usual diets or exercise habits. Forty of the 60 women completed the project. Of these 40 women:

29 (73%) of the women lost weight

14 women lost five pounds or more

Average weight loss was 2.9 pounds

Average reduction in waist size was 1.9 inches

Total weight lost among all the women was 153 pounds

27 (68%) recommended yacon as a weight loss tool
