Got my Teeters inversion table a few weeks ago, and I use it every day. I love the ability to really stretch, and take the load off my spine.

I had an older model, but lost it through life changes. This new model is so much better.

Anyone else?

Re: Is anyone else inverting?

I always think this could cause increased intracranial pressure - not a good thing.

I would love to decompress my spine this way but I have a hip replacement that I must protect. I'm afraid to stress my hip.

Re: Is anyone else inverting?

DH has a lot of lower back pain and he got a cheaper inversion table. He was using it daily, for about 6 months. Then, his doctor put him on BP meds and he was diagnosed with hiatal hernia/GERD. I don't think the inversion table caused these problems, but it may have aggravated pre-existing conditions. While he was able to use the table, he claimed it was helping his back.

I tried it once, and I guess I'm a baby about motion sickness-so I was very uncomfortable on it.

Re: Is anyone else inverting?

I have had one for along time and need to get back on it. Thanks for the reminder. I think they are great, especially for circulation. Too many tools and not enough time Smiley Happy IF I didn't work 60 hours a week and could devote myself to all the equipment I own, I'd be a diva!

Re: Is anyone else inverting?

My husband (who is a physical therapist) and I got the Teeter Inversion table for Xmas, after looking at it for years. We are both in our mid 50's, with typical back problems for people our age. I also have a cervical neck issue, but started inverting slowly and carefully. I find that it does seem to help unload the spine after a long day of sitting at work.

My daughter is 26 and an avid golfer; she uses it also - says it is helping her flexibility and hopefully her score{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}.

My back doctor actually recommended inverting, but checking with your physician is always a good thing. Listen to your body.

Re: Is anyone else inverting?

I had a model of over 35 years ago and also lost it through life's moves! I remember the back was made of wide woven plasticy material. What a pain reliever it was. Now I have one of about 7 years. Do they still ship it in one big box? I remember, it was SO HEAVY that I think I hurt my back unpacking it. Seriously.

I suggested they start shipping it in 2 boxes to save the customers' backs. I wonder if they changed that?

So I do hang, but mostly on an orthopod, purchased about 35 years ago, too. It enables me to hang upside down in a "seated" position, which stretches out the lower back. I use the Teeter, too. Love the bat position! I wish everyone had the option to hang and decompress. - Bird

Re: Is anyone else inverting?

I have chronic back pain due to arthritis and degenerative disk disease. I have lost about an inch in height due to the DDD. I recently asked both my orthopedist and pain management doctor what their thoughts were about an inversion therapy. Both were of the opinion that inversion tables can (and do) cause strokes and not worth the risk. They suggested Pilates and/or yoga as alternatives. HTH

We bought one and neither of us could use it. Sold at a garage sale.
