I just eat what I feel like eating.

Hi @lolakimono... I just read a little and when I get home plan to read the rest but the advice makes a lot of sense.

That may work for you, but for many obese people ( especially the 600 plus group) eatting what they feel like eatting is what gets them introuble.

People wouldn’t know what ‘healthy’ eating or ‘eating right’ was
even if it kicked them in the leg all day.
To imply meat is needed excludes...oh, 15% of the World’s population.
So are they saying anyone practicing Hinduism are not ‘healthy’?
Please.
Plants are our future.
The faster the World realizes that, the faster we stop/prevent
all the modern day illnesses like heart disease, T2 diabetes, obesity.
Until we embrace a plant based diet, the sicker we will become.

Many people aren't able to just eat what they like. There are all sorts of reasons why . I wish I could ,but I am very careful what I eat, to protect my health @SeaMaiden

I noticed he didn't address lectins in plants. There is some thought now that lectins make certain plant foods harder to digest, brought out in the "plant paradox" books and others. I'm new to that concept, but thought I'd mention it since it is fascinating to learn more about nutrition. They say do eat plants, just learn which ones are more digestible.
@sidsmom Have you heard of the "plant paradox"?

Yep.
Read “The Plant Paradox’.
It’s just another low-carb book repackaged.
SO many resources debunking the lectin argument.
I’ll post a video, but if still not convinced, I’ll post more
research/studies talking about the mis-information about lectins,
if you want. Just let me know.
HTH!

Thanks, @sidsmom
No videos, please. I'll find some written info.
Not that seeds or beans are the only lectin-containing items, but I can see that there is some sense to seeds or beans not "wanting" to be digested since their purpose is to repopulate themselves.
On the other hand, there is a certain amount of nutrition that any seed-eating creature obtains, whether birds, humans, or other creatures. Birds eat seeds all the time and they survive beautifully.
I do find it interesting that so many take time to think about so much. That is a fascinating study all on its own!

To me, eat a varied diet and moderate portions. Buy organic when you can.
