Say it three times and hopefully I will beleive it
08-23-2024 07:39 AM
It must be the stress of setting up in a " new " created environment that is bringing additional stress. One step at a time, you can't wave a magic wand and have everything done in the blink of an eye. It will happen in time.
Perhaps create a realistic list of project steps with simple timeframes. Note one or two items you want done first within each step. Recognize that situations will crop up that throw your timeframes into a mess. This is normal. It happens to everyone.
More importantly, give yourself a break each and every day. It is not selfish: it will protect your mental and physical health because they are inter-related.
There is no prize for getting this mammoth project done in total immediately. You and your DH want to enjoy this chapter of your lives. Take it easy....

I understand. Stress can be so overwhelming that it consumes us.
I love to mow but it's raining today. The hum of the mower and endorphins put my brain into a totally relaxed mode that usually lasts the rest of the day.
I intentionally made today a day without appointments, social activities, errands, or any other reason to leave home. I will do what I want today, which is to dust and vacuum, read, walk my dog, or do nothing.

Step back and be kind to yourself, @I am still oxox. I know if I am trying too hard that I just make more work for myself. Same happened with my business, if one of my staff was struggling with a project I sent them out of the office to run an (often) created project for me. It got them up and away for a walk so they could breathe fresh air for even a short time, clears the head.
@CalminHeart My DH loves to cut the grass, we have about 5 acres that is cut regularly and he enjoys doing it. A friend taught me about grounding, it always works well for me so a time or two a week I walk on the grass while the dew is still heavy. . . it is supposed to reconnect us to the earth's electrical energy, and I really think it does so, at least for me.

And @CalminHeart there is nothing better than the aroma of freshly mowed grass. Mowing is a chore, thank the stars above that you have green grass to mow, you are healthy enough to enjoy doing it, the benefits you savor from it, calming yet exilerating for as you note both physical and mental.
You've a great outlook with such a simple task!

I hope you have a stress free day. What happened to your Home Renovation thread? I could not find it.

I always feel stress. Everyday. Getting my second garage door motor replaced today that'll set us back $650. Had the roof on the house soft washed. $740. And TV broke. Always something.
