@monicakm I had knee replacement surgery 3.5 years ago. It's tough, but try to be kind with yourself. Pretty soon you'll be up and about again. ❤

Hubs had knee replacement about 4 years ago when he was 63, but he wasn't confined to bed. Docs wanted him up and moving. So he couldn't negotiate stairs, but did pretty good hobbling around downstairs. Only needed Tylenol for discomfort. Believe me, you will get there...he's back running again but only on treadmill because it's cushioned.
Takes a while for inside to heal, but it will.
edited to add that I don't mean to make light of your discomfort...I had knee surgery about 30 years ago after a car accident...and yeah, I was in pain. But after about a week I was up doing chores and tending to my then 4 year old. BUT I was 37 years old. Makes a difference. Here I am at 67 running on that bum knee!

My sister just had her 2nd knee surgery done Friday and in lots of pain even with meds.
They sent her home same day. She had the first one done last Oct.
They made her walk up 10 steps. It will take a few weeks with the recovery like last time.
She has lots of help living with her. She knows what to expect during recovery.

Hope you're doing ok @monicakm !
I know that not all knee replacement surgeries are the same, because there are a variety of factors that come into play. I hope your mobility is getting better and easier (and less painful!) each week! Hang in there!

I forgot about this post. I don't know why the mods moved it to Wellness. I wanted to share some new products and a YT vid.
My inability to MOVE that day was due to my pre-existing condition (sciatica) that can affect my whole lower left quadrant...which is what's getting the PT. Thought I was going to die. Next PT visit, I had my old PT guy back. We talked about my leg and he took that into consideration during my workout. I was much better that evening

I'm actually doing better this time, thanks. DH and I watched a TKR on You Tube last night. Whew! I forgot to tell my Dr to "be gentle"
On the video, it showed the surgical team making four or five injections around the knee (at the end). He said it was pain medication. I must have gotten that with my first operation because I woke up happy, pain free and alert. I remember sitting up, looking around and saying "Helloooo? Hellooo? I'm awake" LOL
THIS time when I woke up, a flood of pain hit me like a train. I think they forgot the pain med injections
