I've been diagnosed with sciatica

I have been suffering from backpain for the past 2 yrs,since my daughter was born.The past week i have had severe pain in my legs too.Went to see the doctor who said it is sciatica.He said it could be due to epidural not administrated properly.He referred me to a Orthopedist.

Iam very much surprised by the intense pain.What should i expect.Iam unable to function without the painkillers.
