Once I am away from my computer I don't notice it. I might need to adjust the brightness

Two years ago I had an accident (both eyes) and right after steroid use, my vision changed. I developed Dry Eye from the infection and lost 10% contrast sensitivity. I noticed this on my computer screen (which I have to put on the darkest setting). I also developed glare and light sensivity. Not long after, during an eye exam, it showed I had cataracts in both eyes. This all happened within about a month or so. Yes, I noticed a definite difference in my vision.

I am on a Mac ,and finally found a way to adjust the brightness ,and it has helped a bunch

@cherryYou might also want to look at a (free) program like f.lux which warms up your computer screen and gets rid of the harsh blue light. Not sure if it's available for all Macs, but I'm sure there's something else similar out there.

Have you checked your sugar since the cortisone shot? Cortisone increases sugar especially in diabetics. The increase is temporary, high sugar effects vision.

Hi @cherry - cataracts can be a side effect associated with steroids. Usually it is with prolonged use or higher doses; however, I would recommend letting the physician know that administered the steroids and perhaps call the eye doctor to see if you can move up the appointment.

@IMW yes I did. My sugar is always well below the watermark for safety. It seems ok today. It was very cloudy yesterday and that could have contributed to it

This condition if untreated could cause one to quickly go blind.

@Julie_23, you are 100% correct! I have chronic Uveitis and due to prolonged high dosage steroid drops, I have developed cataracts. I also take oral steroids for an autoimmune arthritis disease I have. Both my Ophthalmologist and Rheumatologist confirmed the cataracts are from the steroids.

Thanks everyone. I am not panicked. I think it is something very minor maybe I need new lenses
I am going to see if I can get into my Ophthalmologist a bit early. My eyes are tested every year like clockwork and I don't have macular degeneration, nor is my sugar at dangerous levels. My A1c just came back ,in the normal range..My cataracts might be growing ,or I need new lenses
