I have the beginning of cataracts, but I did have a cortisone shot a week or so ago. It seems like I am having trouble reading small print, quite suddenly, since I had that shot
I have an appointment for an eye exam in a couple of months. Can a change happen this fast? It isn't blurry but not a good as it has been

I'm no expert on cataracts but I've never heard of them changing radically in a week.

@cherry my thought is - you know your body best. if you notice a change and are concerned, then see if you can change your eye appt and get one sooner. if it is something then wiating 2 months may not be a good idea, if it is nothing and you get an earlier appt, then your mind will be at ease and your appt will be over!

I had cataract surgery in May. For me print wasn't getting blurrier, rather it always seemed dark. I found myself turning on lights during the day.
My cataracts were the result of 11 years of steroid drops for dry eyes. For me it was gradual, not a sudden thing.
If you are noticing a big difference, I would not wait a few months.

My lenses haven't been changed in about 4 years. My vision hadn't changed enough to warrant it

I think cortisone can make a difference in vision. I was on a course of oral Prednisone a while back, and I was seeing double.

Thanks everyone it's not a big change but as @lulu1 posted ,perhaps a bit darker than it had been

@cherry, the cortisone shot should not affect your eyesight, but it should be brought to your eye doctor's attention. I have had those shots all over my body and they did not do anything to my vision.
Cataracts can seem like they sneak up on you. Most people develop stage 1 in their 40's, with a gradual increase over the years. However, other factors can affect them.
I would suggest that you make an earlier appointment, if for no other reason, peace of mind, and let your doctor know about your concerns. Hopefully, you have an excellent eye doctor. My eye appointments generally take between 2 and 3 hours, which I call an event, but is obviously very thorough. Also, most people who wear glasses generally have a prescription change every two to three years, so maybe it is just time for a new prescription.

Please contact your Dr and stress that you are having issues with your eyesight . ASAP . Do not delay this.

Allergy season affects my eyesight. Always has. I go through it every Autumn and sometimes spring too.
