Dr. Cooper.....I remember...
I used to train 45miles/weekly., with longer runs every few days.
Sometimes going out for 2 runs a day.
I was young/invincible and was fortunate not to get injured !
The ‘79 Hawaii marathon was where I caught a glimpse of Frank Shorter...
his slighlty longish hair streaming , while he was on his WAY BACK ..
while I was still heading OUT! lol
I wasn’t able to jog the whole distance...I “hit the wall” at 20, but walked the rest of way. Then I went to work at the Foot Locker in Pearl City!
( in my Hawaii marathon ‘79 t-shirt, which I still have! lol)
Not an aerobics/Jaz dance type of person, I still do singular workouts,
Back then, working out with free-weights was another obsession, along with reading “Muscle and Fitness”.
Fortunately Ive kept up with some type of PT all these years, with a few “breaks” during pregnancies.
I guess all all this *time* is causing me to reminisce and ramble.
Life seemed so carefree , relatively speaking. ..
whereas now I’m waiting delivery of masks and hand-sanitizers to distribute
to my family members.
