When I weighed myself at the end of February, I had remained the same as at the end of January. I guess I wasn't as consistent in my eating habits as I should have. Hope I can lose a pound or two by the end of March.
My doctor had decreased my dosage of thyroid medication; so perhaps that has something to do with it.
Hi CLEM, you must be doing something right if you remained the same, as your doctor decreased your thyroid medication. I hope you have a successful month.
I have been reading through the cancer's survivor's thread. I'm only up to page 102, but when I loose my place, it takes forever to get back to it. I am feeling better physically, but the whole cancer thing hanging over my head is a bit stressful. I want to post over there, but I thought I should read through the thread first.
Anyway, I will be hitting the one year mark on the 5/2. It has also been about that long since I gave up wheat. I'm not sorry I did it.

I just started the 16/8 version of iFast on Sunday. Doing pretty well. Not as hungry as I thought. I may work my way up to the 5/2. We will see.

Hi Mariel, I have been thinking about you and have been wondering how you are doing health wise. I know how stressed you must be having to deal with cancer even though the medical field has made great progress over the past few decades. But knowing this still doesn't help with the emotional side. Have you joined any support groups? Many people get a lot out of these.
Wish I lived near you so we could meet for lunch and chat.
I have been doing the 5/2 diet through last week, but decided out of the blue on Monday to take a breather for a month or two. Don't know how much I weigh now and hope I will just pick up where I left off in a few weeks. Still have a few pounds to lose as of right now.
I know you gave up gluten, but I don't think I want to do that. Love my regular toast in the morning too much and a few other goodies every once in an while.
I will be checking in again.

Hi Clem: How sweet, I would have loved that! I have been feeling ok, but caught something nasty this last week, which seems to have been going around here, and have been dragging around. I have not joined a support group, but it is something I will consider over the summer. I see nothing wrong with taking a breather for a month or two, the plan is there if you want it. You overall made positive changes to your diet, which I think you will take with you into the future, no matter what.

Hi Mariel, I hope you continue doing well after your brush with cancer and life is getting better and easier.
I have stopped the diet because I had a whole bunch of health issues which have been resolved for the most part, except I have been diagnosed with breast cancer again (after 16 years). Had a biopsy earlier in the week and will meet with my surgeon on the 17th to discuss a course of action. It seems to have been caught very early. So that is good. Had a biopsy about 1 1/2 years ago and all was well.
This just shows how important it is to stay on top and get checked regularly no matter what age a person is.
Anyway, I am hopeful that this will be behind me soon.
Take care.

Clem, I whispered a prayer of peace and healing for you today. I'm sorry to hear of your concerns.
I'm in the 4th month of 5:2 plan. It's a life plan now. Fasting and keeping within my BMR range has helped with personal discipline with both food and work outs. Hope everyone is experiencing success. Again, Clem, sending you positive energy.

CLEM, I'm so sorry. I wish you didn't have to go through this, and that I could give you a hug. It's good that you have been vigilant, and that it was caught so early. I do hope this will behind you soon, and will add you to my prayers.
I have been a frequent flyer at Sloane Kettering. Physically I feel find. My next surgery (reconstruction) is scheduled for early August. I think things will settle down around October, when I should just have to go in every few months for monitoring.
