I know I can Google this, but

I’d rather turn here to this Community first!

Im wondering if a mixture of Rubbing Alcohol (70%-90%) and

Glycerin or Aloe Vera Gel would work as a hand sanitizer?

And how much of each,,,,,.or

is it a *whack* idea?

Sounds like you already googled a dupe recipe online.

Works but good luck finding ingredients.

There are many, many alternatives to hand sanitzer and those blasted wipes. Think outside the box.

@Snowpuppy

Can you point me in the direction of the alternatives to hand sanitizer and wipes. I've been trying to find the ingredients to no avail.

Question for everyone:

What do you use to disinfect your fruits and vegetables, that are able to be washed, such as apples or melons? Do you just use soap and water, or do you use a bleach solution?  What is the most effective, and safe way of doing it?

@CaliKat  I use "Fit Organic" fruit and vegetable spray and it comes in a wash too!

I watched a doctor on a YouTube video explain what to do with groceries when you get them home. He said wash fruits and vegetables in warm soapy water and rinse well.

3 parts rubbing alcohol (use only 91% or higher, no weaker)

1 part aloe (pure aloe, not a blend)

It will be watery. Do not add more aloe to try and make it thicker.

Re: I know I can Google this, but

@SilleeMee, I had these ingredients and tried to make some sanitizer at home but the aloe vera gel turned more solid in the alcohol as I tried to mix them. I couldn’t get them to blend at all. Is there a trick to it? I’ve googled this and found nothing on it so maybe it’s me!

@Athome2

What kind of alcohol did you use? What strength?

Aloe has to be pure aloe and not a blend.

Re: I know I can Google this, but

@SilleeMee That was fast! Thank you! I just looked and my alcohol IS 91% but the aloe has xanthan, ascorbic acid, citric acid and potassium sorbate, so I may have my answer right there. I never thought to even look!
