i had been shopping in a clothing store. just exited the shop's doors to the sidewalk. the outdoor "mall" has lanes for cars but they don't always yield for pedestrians (no signage either) . i stood on the curb waiting to cross. the car i thought would wave me across did not stop. i think i stepped off the curb...
i don't know what happened but i suddenly went down on my knees. my knees were skinned through my jeans. my left palm is sore i guess where i reached out.
there were many shoppers nearby . a few rushed over and a very nice lady walked me to my car.
now i'm thinking was this a TIA? twice in the past year i have missed turning right, into my driveway. turned and went off the embankment. one time grazed the undercarriage.
this felt the same. like i blanked out for a split second.
i had a brain MRI in 2019, required for my cervical neck surgery. Doctors wanted to rule out MS. i did have some brain changes i can't recall what it was. microvascular something.
ugh. anyone have this happen? is it a mini-stroke? just hope it's not something permanent.

I'm not a doctor so don't know what happened to you and glad you're OK BUT the fact that you still drive is scary. Any other options for you??? Good luck!

How scary this must have been for you. It's nice people were helpful and you got home okay.
This has never happened to me, so I can't share any experience. I'm sure you will, but please do reach out to your pcp and let them help you determine what happened and advise you on any additional care they may suggest.
Please take care.

This must have been so scary for you! Please contact your Doctor and go in for a check-up. Take care of yourself.

If you blanked out for a second, and had two previous incidents where you missed turning into your driveway, you should be seen by a doctor before getting behind the wheel again.
The next time could be devastating for you, and God forbid, someone else...

@CatsyCline I think you should check with your Primary Care Physician. Something caused you to fall. It could be anything. Coupled with the driving mishaps, it seems like you need to know what is happening.
The question every doctor or nurse always asks is "have you fallen since our last visit? More than once? How often?" Falling seems to be symptomatic of many things, but the fall itself is dangerous. Please take care and let us know how you are doing.

Only a doctor can tell you that but from what little I know about TIA's, those are not the symptoms. Maybe it's a concentration thing. You get distracted and fall. You should discuss it with your doctor.

my PCP appointment is coming up in 2 weeks.

@chrystaltree. @CatsyCline. I agree. I suppose a TIA can manifest itself in different ways but when my mom had one, she just suddenly started talking gibberish that didn't make sense.
We immediately got her to the ER where she was diagnosed.
