Did I say that it was?

I also said that I was getting off of my pity pot, but your concern has been duly noted.

I also remember when you came to the boards (AF) and cried and carried on about how devestated your college-aged daughter was after she broke up with her boyfriend, and all of your trials and tribulations with your ex-husband.

That wasn't the end of the world, either.

It was just a break-up.

There's an old adage that says "A cold is 3 days coming, 3 days here and 3 days leaving." which just boils down to 9 to 10 days of feeling yucky and then you'll feel better again.  Support your body with good nutritious soups and foods and plenty of liquids.  Symptom specific over the counter products are better than multi-symptom ones as when a symptom disappears you can stop that medicine.  It's bad enough to have a cold in winter but a summer cold, while not unheard of, is the pits!
