On Friday, I went to our local school and did a drive-thru for the testing.  It took longer to drive there than the 5 minutes it took for the test.  Results back this morning and I am negative.  Very happy to hear, but not surprised, since I stay home except for workouts at the Y and grocery shopping about every 2 weeks.  Nothing in my life has really changed, which is probably why I am ok.  I hope everyone else here is.

Re: I Finally Got My Covid Test

@SXMGirl  I'm very glad for you.

DH hasn't and won't get Covid or Antibody test because he works at a hospital.

He believes even if he has good outcome now it doesn't mean it won't be bad later. Everyday is a new exposure risk for him.

Re: I Finally Got My Covid Test

@Mary Bailey  I hope that your DH stays healthy as he does such good work for all of us.  Our health care workers, no matter the capacity, are angels, imo.

Re: I Finally Got My Covid Test

DH & I tested negative about 2 weeks ago. Neither of us had symptoms, but he wanted to go visit his mother for her 89th birthday so he wanted to make sure he was negative before he went. He still wore a mask when he saw her.

I’ve had 2 family members that don’t live with me test positive; one had bad symptoms but survived, & the other never had any symptoms. A friend of our family has lost both his brother and sister to COVID, as well as his brother in law. Very sad.

I’ve been home since March 15 except for a few doctor appointments the last few weeks. DH goes to the grocery & runs essential errands by himself because I am at risk. Overall, we are still staying home more than going out.

Re: I Finally Got My Covid Test

@Mary Bailey  I agree with your DH.  for anyone who is working,  the test resut is only an indicator up to the moment of the test.  after the test is drawn you are back to square one.  May you all stay well.

And every day he does not test, he is an exposure risk to everyone he comes in contact with. I appreciate his work in healthcare, but not his refusal to take a test. My Mother is in a health care facility and they test everyone that works there daily. They are sent home to quarantine if they test positive.

Why did you need a test?  Around here you have to have a good reason to get one.. either having been exposed to someone with COVID or having symptoms yourself.  Seems if you have stayed home most of the time,  seems you would know you were ok.

@RealtyGal2  He'd never put anyone at risk

Just like all of the other employees  Every day at work his temp is taken  if they have symptoms or a temp they are sent home to quarantine

He wears a mask and gloves all day long
