Is the office manager a medical professional? DH needs (or you) needs to speak to someone that can put yoy throughto the dentist or someone that can REALLY help.

@Lisa Y  Did your husband just have his dentist do the root canal or did he go to a

Endodontist root canal specialist? Some people just have their dentist do them to save a few dollars.....I would NEVER DO THAT.  I WOULD THINK A ENDODONTIST WOULD HAVE HAD HIM COME IN.

I have had 7 root canals....sure there is a bit of discomfort for a week..., but not bad pain. He should be seen ASAP.

I had my first ever root canal last week. I asked about antibiotics and the dentist told me they do not completely clear the root of infection, which is why the root canal is needed. The procedure itself was long and tedious, but I immediately felt relief and other than a little ache here or there right after the drilling, I have no pain now at all. I was not sent home with antibiotics since the root was cleared of infection, sterilized with what tasted like bleach and the tooth sealed off.

Your husband still has infection. Not every dentist does a great job with this procedure. The dentist himself said it is long and boring, but comprises a ton of patients he sees.

Get your hub to a walk in or the ER. It is NOT normal to continue to have pain.

Re: Husband’s Root Canal-UPDATE

Im happy he's doing better but don't ever let some dumb axx clerical worker talk down to you like that.  I didn't see the original post but you should have demanded to speak to the dentist about your husband's pain.

Re: Husband’s Root Canal-UPDATE

Had many root canals back in the 1990's and I would think with newer technology they would have improved.

Back when I had mine, my biggest issue was a sore jaw. That was from being propped open, beyond its normal range, for well over 2 hours. What little pain I did experience, Advil was more than enough to calm things down.

Never had an infection, and that is always a plus. Any time there is an infection, especially around nerve roots, there is going to be pain, and that is any part of the human body.

@Lisa Y  I am glad to see your husband was prescribed an antibiotic that worked better for him dealing with his pain level.

Thanks so much for your kind words, @hckynutjohn

Definitely an infection, but he's on the mend!
Have a great weekend.
