Re: How to take a shower without getting your eyes wet

My husband just had that surgery 3 weeks ago, he was given some large goggle like things, he used those.  He had both eyes done at the same time though.

When I had mine I ordered a pack of face shields from Amazon. They were a little shorter than what another poster showed.  At the top of the shield you pulled off a strip of paper to expose the sticky tape, stick it across your forehead and it worked great.  I think they are actually meant to be used for hair dying.

when I had my eye done I just lowered the shower head so it was lower , kept my eye shut and was very careful .   Get eye injections every few months and do the same .  I'm wash my face with wash cloth instead of my hands for the first couple of days and sponge bath as my mom used to call it as well for the first day .  I dont get water in my eye as I know water has bacteria in it after my injections for a few days.

Actually a good idea when coloring hair . Or showering when not wanting to disturb makeup .

Umm, close your eyes? I never had a problem showering after my cataract surgeries.

I had my cataracts done and just closed my eyes when washing my face. Otherwise, I very rarely get water in my eyes in the shower and if I do, I close my eyes and dab it away.

After my eye surgery, I used a Beekman Wipe to clean my face, and I wore swim goggles in the shower. I did not want to take any chances. The wipes were invaluable. When washing hair, I stood backwards and tipped my head back to rinse.

Can you use a plastic bag...tear the top off, put it over your head and tape around bag to hold it up.  Suppose you could do this with plastic wrap also.

I use an inexpensive shower hose that is easily attached near the shower head. You can turn it off and use the regular head whenever you want and the hose detaches. It's also great for cleaning the shower. They are good if you use a shower seat too.
