Re: How to take a shower without getting your eyes wet

I use an inexpensive shower hose that is easily attached near the shower head. You can turn it off and use the regular head whenever you want and the hose detaches. It's also great for cleaning the shower. They are good if you use a shower seat too.
The one I like is by Rinse Ace. Their products are sold all over the internet and in stores. I've bought the one with a trigger sprayer for pets and it works just as great as it's cheaper than others from them, but they're all good and long lasting. Super easy to hook up and take down. I've also ordered the longer hose before since our shower is big. I sit down on my shower chair and use mine.

@geegerbee Looks like you received some good advice. I must remember to tell my sister as she is getting hers done in two weeks. How did your surgery go by the way? Everything good?

Don't stand under the shower.  Don't put out your head under the shower.  Have the shower head pointing downward so that the water hits your body below your neck.  It's how I routinely shower when I don't want to get my hair wet.

I had my first cataract about 30 years ago yes I was very young and had some sort on anolomy with my eyes. I seem to remember using the eye shield I used to sleep to keep my eye dry

Re: How to take a shower without getting your eyes wet

I had 2 cataract surgeries in the last 8 months, I really didnt put much thought into it, just keep the surgical eye away from the flow of the water, it seemed very simple to me, I was allowed to wash my hair within a few days.  Just keep head bend back away from the water instead of looking down.

Umm, close your eyes? I never had a problem showering after my cataract surgeries.

No need to get snippy, she was simply asking a very reasonable question.

I don't know how long you can't get water near your eyes, however, I'd probably just skip showering the first few days.  How dirty can we get? Cat Very Happy

They should have explained to you how to do this prior to leaving your surgery center.
