Things like this make me happy. Everyone deserves to get their medications on time and food is right there also.

Hi @I am still oxox ,

I see that your husband got the refill that he needed from his doctor's office but I also wanted to let you know that I go through the same thing that he is also experiencing, every month myself.

I try and have the pharmacy do my refills to the doctor's office but they tell me that the doctor's office usually doesn't respond to their requests for my refills, so they tell me to end up calling there myself to the doctor's office, which I'll do as a follow-up.

I'm then told by the rep. who answers the phone at the doctor's office that the office/doctor is so busy and behind on filling prescriptions, etc.

It can take more than one day to fill a prescription from the doctor's office to the pharmacy, and that's what I usually have to plan on when I need any refills.

I then also have to wait for the pharmacy to fill the prescription and then that can add on a little longer time because they may have to order the prescription if they don't have it in stock, so that may add on another day or two to the waiting time.

So, I understand any frustration that your family may be experiencing when it comes to trying to get prescriptions filled.

I ask my dr for 1 every 90 days----always get an email from the mail order pharmacy that they are working on it and it comes in about 10 days or so.

@Susan Louise Good for you even at 130 lbs we both still have chronic issues.

@I am still oxox  I'm 5'7" and hover between 138-142lbs.

We got off of our meds due to a lifestyle change - what we eat/don't eat. I lost about 120 lbs and DH lost about 140-150lbs. We have kept the weight off for nearly 6 years now and couldn't be happier/healthier.

I was 'normal' weight all my life til I hit my early 40's, then became insulin resistant/metabolically broken/pre-diabetic. Same with my DH except that he actually became a type 2 diabetic. I was headed down the same road.

DH was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic in Sept 2018. We changed our lifestyle on that very day and haven't looked back. He is not a type 2 diabetic anymore and I am not a pre-diabetic either. Literally, ALL of our other health issues we had are now gone and off ALL meds. I've posted about it several times over the years.

We both feel like we are in our 30's again...

I wish you success on your journey to better health.

Good for you this medication helps my husband sleep and has nothing to do with his weight, he is 5 ft 5 and 130 lbs, he works out sometimes two hours a day, or bikes 20 miles a day. You have no idea how or what we eat. We eat very healthy.  Fitness and taking meds so not always go hand in hand. I feel very HURT by you off hand comments, being thin does not always mean good health, I had less health issues when I was 80 lbs heavier. I am 5 feet tall and 125 lbs and I have more issues having to do with bone structure than health,

@I am still oxox

I said nothing mean or nasty. I was sharing just like you...very 'matter of fact' as to how/why we don't take meds anymore.

I hope you have a good day... Smiley Happy

Re: How often do you have to ask your Dcctor for a refill

@Susan Louise You come off like its your way or the highway I have seen many of you posts shaming others about their life style. I would rather not continue this senseless discussion. You're free t choose your life style, what ever it may be and we are free to choose ours. Please refrain from making your, I am better off than you are comments. Because I don't care and they add nothing to do with the original post

Re: How often do you have to ask your Dcctor for a refill

No one asked anyone why they aren't taking any meds and about their height and weight. Very strange. It ads nothing to this Thread. Maybe there are others here who aren't taking any meds also bur not posting about it.

Anyway, that's life. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Re: How often do you have to ask your Dcctor for a refill

@Sage04 Thank you so much, some people have to make it all about them sometimes but adding nothing what so ever that has to do with the thread. @Susan Louise  happens to be one of those. I appreciate people with open minds and open hearts
