Curious since no one has asked &nbefore making recommendations,
Why are you taking a psyllium supplement?
Are you taking any other medical/herbal supplements?
Are you eating a high fiber diet?
I’m just trying to improve gut health, which had been a little sluggish lately. I eat a low carb diet so extra fiber always helps. I also want the benefits to BP and cholesterol, which can always have room for improvement. Also, it gets me to drink more water. I do not take any Rx drugs, only daily med is Nexium once in the morning. I take the psyllium at night so it shouldn’t interfere. I try to eat as much veggies and a bit of fruit daily but I’m never perfect. Having this on hand is helpful. I just wanted some advice on optimal dosage.
I had a suspicion diet was behind this.
A Plant Based diet could help with many of the conditions you stated
(increase fiber, lower BP, lower LDL, no more Nexium, increased
good gut bacteria, regular bowel movements)...all with just diet alone.

I’m very happy with my diet and my bloodwork. One can always strive to improve though. I generally eat a lot of plant matter daily. I’m just looking for a boost lately to a combat a sluggish feeling in the gut. I don’t eat that stereotypical low carb diet people picture in their minds. I eat much better than that.

Yes!
Stunning how people don’t see the food-health connection.

Really? You don’t think taking a food supplement to benefit my health is realizing the food-health connection? Then what is that called? The reason I eat the diet I do is for my health, not for kicks. I always look for ways to make it better and many medical doctors and scientists will recommend adding fiber to your diet for various health benefits. I have worked for 25 years studying the effects of diet on cancer. So I guess you guys eat perfectly all day every day your entire life and enjoy perfect health, therefore need no changes at all. Glad for you. I’m still working on it.

Eating the correct diet for humans, you won’t need supplements.
Animal products have no fiber...remove the animal products.
Eating a low fat diet of fruit/veg/starches/nuts/seeds of
naturally occurring high fiber is the diet for optimum health.
I do realize eating a PB diet is a journey, but if one is having
issues by ‘going right’, one needs to fix it by ‘going left’.
To make changes, one needs to make changes.

The SAD is not healthy for humans despite the marketing. That has, sadly, been proven.
The human body does not require fiber; that is science. No matter what anyone recommends.

May I suggest....
The human body does not require supplemented fiber
via pills/powders/tablets.
We do require fiber, lots for optimum health, but only
via naturally occurring foods.
