I had to get new lenses for I had a cataract operation. About 10 days counting the weekend. I kept my old frames for they seemed smaller than ones I tried on at another place. It was more than $200.

I just got new glasses about 3 weeks ago. It took about one week after ordering them. Hope you get your glasses soon @Laura14.

I never heard of anything like that but I don't go to Lenscrafters, perhaps that's the way they do business. That would not be acceptable for me. I wear progressives, hubby does and my sil does. We all go to the same opthalmologist. Our glasses are ready in 7 or 8 days.

I had a longer than normal delay than normal, but not as extreme. I've learned lately I had to call them less , they did remember to call as soon as they reach the Eye glass desk. As long as they are correct I,m usually fine.Is this your first pair of glasses, or are you wearing glasses now?Having a delay if this is your first pair would horrible. I would ask them to compensate you if it takes any longer.

@BeccaLou It's my first pair of progressive glasses.
I actually left work and drove myself to the store yesterday to say what's up? When I walked in and said I had been waiting 3 weeks for my glasses both sales people jumped about as high as you can. The guy checked the computer and the woman went immediately back to the lab.
According to the woman, the order was cancelled then reordered. I think that happened when I called last week asking where my glasses were. That person lied to me and never told me that but this girl seemed to be genuine.
Supposedly, my frames are in, the lenses have been shipped (hopefully arriving yesterday-yeah right that's what I was told last week). They put the glasses together on site so they will get my glasses to me "fairly quickly."
The girl apologized all over the place and said their communication with the sending lab has been "tricky."
Since they jumped literally about as high and far as they should have I let them live and I'm waiting it out a few more days.
I actually have a bet going with some of my other friends. Closest to the delivery date wins. ![]()

I've been purchasing glasses for years from lens crafters and never waited over a week for them. I just received a new pair of progessive after 4 days of ordering them. I also get free maintenance from them if anything loosens up on either the lenses or the frame hinges. I've got nothing but good service from this company. That's why I keep going back to the same location store.

I am still waiting on "one" contact lens ... been almost a month. Plus I got charged an "extra" $150 for a fitting fee (insurance would not cover)... never heard of that one before.

I picked my glasses up and chatted with the Costco employee. I told her about this thread and asked about time lines. She said they shoot for 5-7 days for completion but tell customers two weeks so they will be pleasantly surprised when they show up early.

@seaBreeze Say what? My contact lenses are always mailed to me about two days, tops.
And insurance not covering the fitting fee is BS. It's against the law to not have your contacts fitted for your own health so you don't go blind. I'd vote new insurance or no insurance pronto.

Eyemart Express is the only place that is able to have my glasses ready same day within two hours. Everybody else it's at least a week to 10 days.
