I bought new progressive lens as well as a total pair of suns with progressive lens last summer. I work with a private optician because of various vision issues; also I had a bad experience with Lenscrafters some years ago.
ETA - It took a week to get those progressives.

one week maximum for glasses, three days for contacts.
sometimes the glasses come in at the same time.

I've never waited longer for a week for glasses for myself, daughter or husband. My Mom too!

I think it’s more of a Lenscrafters issue. Perhaps they ran out of the “blanks” needed to make your pair specifically and there was a delay getting more in.
I have worn progressives for more than 30 years. From companies large and small, it has usually taken 12 working days - give or take a couple of days.
I would certainly ask them what/why the delay, so you’ll know. But even for Lenscrafters (whom I have used a few times) that’s too long IMO.
How long you have to wait depends on the severity and uniqueness of your prescription. If you have a minimal need and decent vision without them, that sort of Rx is usually a “one hour” type. The more complicated the Rx, the less likely those “blanks” (from which they further fine tune your exact Rx) are just sitting in the store/lab and the more likely they need to be sent from a central lab, which may be in the next town or across the country, depending on the lab they use.

I no longer need glasses but when I did wear them my place, local, made them on the spot. Less than an hour wait. And I did not pay big bucks for them either(progressives).

The last glasses I got were from a discount place. They made my progressive lenses in 2 hours then texted me when they were ready. I ordered another pair from Walmart that took about a week.

At least 10-14 days.

I went to costco on 10/19 and they just called a few minutes ago 10/25 Progressive, UV, Scratch resistant coating and Transition coating.

I just had an eye exam yesterday & ordered glasses. They are progressive with transition lenses. He said they would take about 2 weeks to come in. In the past I think they’ve always come in faster.
I’ve also ordered from Zenni optical & received them in just over a week & that’s without paying for faster service or shipping. Their glasses are nice & really cheap. It’s ridiculous the prices they charge at the eye doctors! Are plastic frames really worth $200 before you even add the lenses?
I bet they forgot to order yours. That happened to me once with contacts. I had a bad experience with Lens Crafter many years ago & never went back. I hope you get your glasses soon.

There are several steps in fabricating a complete pair of eyeglasses.
The lens labratory makes lenses. After the process the lenses must pass quality assurance. If they fail, the process starts all over. If speciality coatings are ordered such as Crizal (anti-glare) lenses are ordered this is a separate process after the lens prescription is fabricated. Again if the lens treatments do not pass inspection the process is restarted.
Lens manufacturers usually do not provide frames. So your optometrist or optical will often have to order this separately and send to lens lab. He/she may have in stock. Often frames are on back order.
It can happen that there is a frame breakage durning the final assembly of finished glasses. Now a frame has to be re-ordered.
Some labs alert the optical/optometrist that there is a delay--sometimes not. And then there is the shipping delays, misdirected shippments, etc.
But when all goes well, 7-10 business days would be reasonable delivery for ultra thin, crizal, progressive lenses with frame.
