@Icegoddess what do you do when you have just washed you hair and they are all full of water
Are you talking about wax in your ears or water in your ears? If it's water, google OTC ear drops for swimmers ear.

I don't agree on that at all, Anyone can post any question or discussion they wish as long as it is within the Q guidelines. Shouldn't have to be subjected to ridicule!!!
Personally, I'd rather hear discussions and responses from people on these boards than trust google or AI.
Just yesterday, I googled an inquiry....clicked on the first three showing...ALL different and quite contradictory answers!

@RespectLife, I fully agree that people can ask whatever they want within the guidelines.
And whenever we post anything, we are in some way judged. I agree posters shouldn't be ridiculed, nor should they receive comments questioning reading comprehension skills when more often than not incomplete information is provided. Or circumstances are different than what's originally posted.
I still stand by there being such a thing as some dumb questions. I'm not saying that's the case here.
There are accessible sources for information than just the internet.

Excess wax in the ear is a medical issue and should be addressed .... medically, not by bandying around home remedies on a forum. The treatment may be simple or it may require professional skill, ideally to be determined only after medical examination. The OP did not say why she did not "like" the two ENT's she saw. Was it because she thought they were not competent or was it because she did not like their personalities, which is not relevant to otic issues. In any event, there are a substantial number of Board Certified ENT's in the NY area, so finding another one should not be a problem.

@spumoni99 - You are lucky! I was a swimmer too, and swam almost every day until a few years ago.
From the time I was young I had a problem with "swimmer's ear." I used Swim Ear before going in the water, and I was a frequent user of Debrox. I still am. The doctor told me long ago some people are more prone to it than others are.
I use a q-tip too, and I'm careful not to put it in too far. I would never use one of the appliances they advertise on TV. An ENT doctor has had to professionally clean them only twice since I was young. My regular family practitioner knows my "ear" history and always checks them, no matter what I'm in for. ![]()

I use Q-tips without any problems. My doctor told me I had the cleanest ears. LOL
If I feel mine have wax in them I use Debrox earwax remover. I'm not going to the doctor for that?

@Nightowlz it is normal to have wax in your ears and that does not require medical care. I was talking about EXCESS wax.

Here nor Google should not be considered definitive sources for medical assistance. As for contradictory info, this place is rife with it. 😆
