My doctor has retired. How do I go about finding a new one? Thank you.

Ask friends and family. Look at large medical groups and if you like some one go on a look see to interview them.

I went to my health insurance network and looked for one there. Then I went to Yelp dot com to see what other people had to say about the doctors I was looking at.
ETA-
I need to mention that when I looked for doctors in my network, I chose the ones closest to me. I'm not one for driving long distances just to see a doctor. I hate driving anywhere.

Most likely, your doctor works with other doctors in the same office/practice.
It is easy to just stay with the same practice. Call to make an appointment. You can always check for reviews of each provider who works there.
More often than not, a retiring doctor will send you correspondence telling you they retired and they will refer you to another doctor and move your records to them if necessary.

@May5. Ask your current doctor for a referral to someone else. Ask family and friends for suggestions if they have good doctors who they like. If you try someone with whom you don't click, you can always move on to another.

Actually he did and that doctor is not accepting any new patients.

I need a new ophthalmologist, mine is leaving the practice and is not permitted to practice within 100 miles. . .

Not sure if you mean a PCP? If so, just check with your Insurance and see who is accepting new patients. Does not matter much since often it is more efficient to just go to urgent clinic, which can do prescriptions and referrals. Don't think I have seen mine in over two years. The wait for appointments is long.
Now specialists are a different story.

My doctor moved away, but he left a recommendation, so I went there. I like the new one. He's not GP, just an internist (the new GP) but he's pretty good.

in reviewng the other posts on your topic they are all great recommendations. I was going to say to ask your current provider, insurance company or other friends and family mbrs. You of course want a provider who will be able to take the time needed to address your medical issues and or concerns and not just rush in and out of your visits. Best wishes in finding the right provider
