Re: How Many Vitamins

[ Edited ]

Andrew Lessman's vitamins made me feel so tired and suddenly old. I am 82 but I never felt like it.lol

Suddenly  I was remarkably unable to do anything i always did before and only wanted to sleep.

I was getting depressed,so I stopped them and I quickly became  my old happy  self ,with energy again...lol

I also tried his EYE vitamins. My sensitive eye got worse and I needed my glasses more than usual,so I returned to my ,Preser Vision Areds 2,sold everywhere..lol

So much for A L.......sorry Andrew, I tried, just like I did once before, so many, many yrs ago.......

If you eat a well-balanced diet, nutritionists say you don't need any supplements.  AL is a vitamin salesman who will convince you that your days are numbered if you don't take a ton of his.  I always wonder about the quality of the stuff he peddles....we don't know do we?  Due to the powers of suggestion, people THINK they're effective but are they really?

There are the usual AL bashers but I am a big fan of AL.  I take a lot of his supplements and feel that they have greatly improved my life.  I enjoy watching his shows and learning from him.

I agree it can be hard to now if something is "working" unless there is a noticeable effect. I notice for sure if I stop taking Magnesium and the Circulation/vein support.  These make a huge difference in my life.  My blood work shows I am absorbing the B12 and VitD based on blood levels.  Beet supplements have gotten my blood pressure down to normal range.  Some of the other ones, I just go on the scientific evidence about the efficacy and potential benefits.  I also agree Andrew is very hypnotizing and can convince many people they need his stuff.  He and his cute dogs sell a lot of vitamins!

@MalteseMomma.  I think you're right, Lessman's image is everything.  He and his his business are clean, neat, efficient and he's polite, low-key, laid back.  Boy I heard him describing a competitor and he blew that image out of the water.  Nasty man.

Like you, the only supplements I take were suggested by my doctor, Lutein and Presser Vision as I'm in the early stages of Macular Degeneration.   Both of my parents had it.

I take one multi-vitamin, and just started to take a formulation for joints/bones, as I am getting older and have some aches and pains.  Jury is still out if I will continue.

I take multi vitamines about four times a week.   I use flax oil and flax seed daily.  I also take one of the eye supplement pills a few times a week, and an oral B12 most days.  If I'm inside a lot, Vit. D.

I think I have a good diet with enough variety to pretty much cover it all and my bloodwork is great.

I eat a healthy and balanced diet. But unfortunately I have mild malabsorption because of an autoimmune disease. So my doctor recommended the two vitamins.  I take some other dietary supplements which help me maintain my weight as well as help maintain normal blood chemistry. Supplementation is not an option for me. I need it to stay healthy and I don't expect any vitamin or supp to prolong my life...just help put quality back in to my life.Woman Happy
