I'm at least 25 yrs. past menopause..The past 2 weeks I've been getting hot flashes every few days..so bad that it's like I just walked out of the shower..No other symptoms..no changes in meds, etc.

I guess if it keeps up I'll make a Dr. appt. before my next normal visit..I hate making regular appt. visits 3-4 months in advance.

This getting old stuff isn't for sissies!

Yes, this would certainly be something you should mention to your dr.  There was an ob/gyn on The View over the summer who did say some women can still experience many of the unpleasant symptoms of menopause, hot flashes in particular, for years after going through the change.  She said these symptoms persist in some women for 30 years!  I thought, just my luck!

It's so hot outside I don't know if it a hot flash or just normal summer weather.

its definitely true.

i went through menopause about 14 years ago and STILL have hot flashes fairly often. to this day i cannot wear a heavy winter coat. i usually just use a cape, ruana, or a poncho, even during the dead of winter.

Oh boy!  Sounds like I'm in for a long haul with these hot flashes too then lol. I tend to run a little hot anyways, so my winter coats have been much like those you have too.

Sometimes, I get so hot my reading glasses actually fog up!

Re: Hot Flashes at my age??

[ Edited ]

I've had flashes persistently since I turned 50, for 12 yrs, but that is normal for me. Yay! It's genetic, my Mom had them for 20 yrs, and am on a patch to control them and sleep!  Anyway, my point for you here, is that if this is new to you, and not 'normal' for you, then yes, see your doctor!  Best wishes-

There are medical conditions that can cause hot flashes.  I would give it some time to I see if they resolve.  Maybe a month.  Since you're are so frequent, I would see my doctor if they continue.
