I haven't been cold in 20 years.  I started hot flashes around age 40 and finished meno at age 50.  I chose to go hormone-free.  But there are now more natural hormones available and you might want to check on it.  I'm 64 and my body temp never went all the way back to normal.  I've had it checked and it's just the way I am.

I'm guessing mine stopped somewhere around the 15 yr mark. I'm a hot person anyway and those flashes would just about do me in. I find if I get very stressed about something, they will pop up every now and then.

I wish I had gotten the cold portion as some have said, I would have been a lot more comfortable, lol.

@embgm

Thank you for the paroxatine suggestion. I’ll definitely check with my oncologist. Some relief would be wonderful.

@trenet: I thought i would mention, I have found that the more foods I eat that contain sugar, the worse my hot flashes get. Sometimes, I would get 2-3 an hour and they would sometimes last up to 15 minutes each one. When I deleted sugar from my diet, my hot flashes diminished markedly. I stopped having night sweats and sometimes I only had 1or 2 flashes a day. When I did have a flash, it lasted for a very short period of time. A benefit of getting off of sugar, is that my A1C dropped. It wasn't really high to begin with but still, it's a good benefit. I also lost weight but that wasn't a good thing for me. 😎

@Coquille

That is impressive.  I love my morning tea with Challah toast & marmalade and afternoon tea with Madeleines or shortbread biscuits so, I know I would have trouble omitting all sugar but, reducing the amount is possible. I will start there.

Thank you.

Certain meds can cause hot flashes. I can only take natural thyroid meds ,because the synthetic stuff, gave me terrible hot flashes, as well as other problems

My Dr said it was the  binders in the meds that did it

@trenet Challah (toasted or not) and jam, OMG. You're torturing me! I only allow myself to have that during the holidays but then, I go full on each day. I now have 1 Biscoff with my 99% Caffeine Free Cappuccino at 3:30 every day. That's my Achilles's heel. You have to start somewhere so, weening is good. I stopped cold turkey and was not happy for about 4 weeks. It wasn't only physical but also mental. There was my husband eating all the good stuff, even if he tried to hide it, I knew it was in the house.  I did it, knowing it was for a good cause. Do what works for you and Good Luck. Stay well.
