I'm 62 and my husband is 75.

 

My husband doesn't WANT to get the flu shot at all, but has agreed to get it the last several years, but the under 65 version.

 

So, we both got the Quad a few weeks ago which is the shot for people under 65.


Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

All things considered, your Pharmacist knows more about drugs/meds than your MD would.  The Pharmacist is the expert.

Age isn't the only consideration. Your health also make a difference in what you choose. People who have chronic illness ,also benefit from the stronger dose

Got my shot yesterday.  I was going to get the over 65 version but according to my pharmacist that only protects against 3 strains, though it is slightly stronger.  The quad of course protects against 4 strains.  I decided to get what I got last year, the quad.  I am in my late 70's.
